As much as creatine is the GOATED supplement, I really truly stand by that statement 

There is something that many people don’t realise when they start supplementing creatine, especially when pursuing fat loss 

If you start taking creatine prior to a fat loss phase, it is unlikely that you are going to see any creatine related shifts in that scale 

However, if you start taking it in tandem with your fat loss phase it is VERY VERY likely that you will see an upward trend on the scale. This is because when you start taking creatine, the body holds more water intracellular, in the muscles, to aid performance and recovery 

It is very important at this point, you DO NOT let the scales gaslight you into thinking that your fat loss phase isn’t working. The best thing to do is stick with it, dont panic and stop taking it.

Your body goes through an initial phase of saturation, so weight WILL fluctuate, its important you ride this out. We want as many tools in our toolbox as possible when it comes to performance, muscle retention, and recovery. Especially in a calorie deficit. 

If you are in a fat loss phase and the scales aren’t budging, despite being in a deficit, nailing your steps and nutrition. It is likely the creatine
